Gun-toting Republicans
Why is it that when the Republicans are in power you don’t see a rise in leftist militias?
Officials see rise in militia groups across U.S.
Gosh a lot of Republicans are just SORE LOSERS! Get over yourselves! The majority of the country voted another way, do you really have to kill people to show that you don’t agree with the Democrat-government policies?
WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!
Who could’ve predicted this?
Federal tax revenues plummeting
Hmm… so what they’re saying is that when people are unemployed and can only “earn” (through unemployment) something like 60% of their previous salary, income taxes reduce? And when businesses are going under or reporting losses THEIR tax revenues decline, TOO? Huh… go figure. I didn’t realize math worked that way.
Is this a joke?
I’m sure that when most people think of having kids, they think to themselves “but what will my child’s impact on the environment be?” And they ponder this for a few days and decide, “you know, my child will just have too big of a carbon footprint. I just don’t think that I will have children.” Because that’s just how people are.
Save the Planet: Have Fewer Kids
A study by statisticians at Oregon State University concluded that in the United States, the carbon legacy and greenhouse gas impact of an extra child is almost 20 times more important than some of the other environment-friendly practices people might employ during their entire lives – things like driving a high mileage car, recycling, or using energy-efficient appliances and light bulbs.
Maybe a better solution than “stop procreating” would be to try to raise more scientists and engineers and come up with better solutions to the greenhouse gas “problem” (I personally think Global Warming is a naturally occurring trend that may be influenced by humans at a scale of say 0.001%). Humans are an intelligent species and I really think that we can come up with better ways to improve our environment than “stop having kids.”
This line of thinking just irritates me.
Are people really this stupid… wait don’t answer that
Jobless NYC woman sues college for $70k in tuition
New York City woman who says she can’t find a job is suing the college where she earned a bachelor’s degree.
(a) If you got the degree you got what you paid for. Quit your bitching and realize that this economy sucks and lots of people with the degree AND experience can’t find jobs either.
(b) Maybe pick a major where you can get a job with the degree… like engineering or nursing? Last I heard the US has shortages of both those professionals.
(c) What lawyer would actually take this case on? Do we really want to set this precedence? “Oh, poor me, I got a degree in Underwater Basketweaving and now I can’t find a job. I’m going to sue my college.”
Get a life lady.
I Hope they Get two years in the Federal Pen
19 Arrested in Canary-Fighting Investigation
Hey, if it’s good enough for Michael Vick, it should be good enough for these guys. Gotta balance the scales of justice, right?
Insurance discounts for the healthy
Are big insurance discounts for healthy behavior unfair?
Does this question need to be asked? Are insurance discounts for safe driving fair? Are insurance companies allowed to not insure your home if you own a pit bull? Seriously, are people annoyed with this? Yes, probably… the fat ones who smoke, right?
Employers and health insurers could give larger discounts to employees who lose weight or lower their cholesterol under one health care overhaul proposal that’s moving through Congress .
You do have to ask though, what if I’m already at a healthy weight or have low cholesterol? Do I still get the discount, or does there have to be a change of lifestyle in order to take advantage of the discount?
The groups fighting the provision say that while many employees might want to exercise and eat right, some might find that work schedules and family commitments prevent them from making the lifestyle changes needed to improve their health. Lower-income workers, in particular, might not be able to afford gym memberships, even with employers’ subsidies.
Really? Gym memberships? I mean, it’s not like there’s a pesky thing as gravity and you could actually just move your body in your home in ways devised to help tone muscle… or run outside, or bicycle, or walk… I mean, you MUST have a gym membership in order to lose weight. That’s how people in Europe stay thin, right? Or maybe they actually just walk places instead of using their cars to get everywhere? I mean, when was the last time you saw a fat guy on the subway in New York?
Ugh, this is just so frustrating. If you want to cut health care costs, you have to make people healthier. You have to make sure that programs are available to help people make good choices. Pre-natal screenings, forums on eating healthy, smoking cessation programs. Not that I think the government should be paying for ANY of this, but a lot of these things are offered through my insurance program, and I would think that they would be offered through MOST insurance programs.
And while we are on the subject, I work a 40 hour week, I have a two-year old child and am pregnant with a second child and I find the time, EVERY NIGHT to make dinner and serve it. Sometimes it does include hamburgers and french fries, but there is almost always a combination of lean protein, fresh vegetable and carbohydrate. It’s not difficult or time-consuming to make a tasty, well-balanced meal. It just takes advanced planning and about 30 minutes a night.
Oh, and here’s a side note, America: McDonald’s is NOT GOOD FOR YOU (neither is Wendy’s or Burger King or Taco Bell, etc. etc. etc.).
Are these people really this stupid?
GOP headache: The birther issue
At a town hall meeting in Georgetown, a woman demanded to know why Castle and his colleagues were “ignoring” questions about Obama’s birth certificate — questions that have been put to rest repeatedly by state officials in Hawaii, where the birth certificate and all other credible evidence show that Obama was born in Honolulu on Aug. 4, 1961.
Ok, it’s time to let it go. He ran, he won. The election was stolen from the Democratic party back in 2000, and apparently some Republicans think it was stolen from them this time (although if you want to get technical about the matter, John McCain was born in, where was it, Panama? So if HE had won, wouldn’t this be an issue for Democrats, too?!). So, now can we just say now we’re all even and let the man do the job he was elected (by the majority) to do?
LET IT GO ALREADY. You just look stupid and petty. Show some class, Republicans, this crap is getting old.
Guess I’m not alone
46% More Likely to Buy Ford ‘Cause It Didn’t Get a Bailout
46% of Americans now saying they are more likely to buy a car from Ford because it did not take government money to stay in business.
That’s pretty much how I feel about the matter.
Why… How… I… So sad
Police: Four boys sexually assaulted 8-year-old girl
Four boys ages 9 to 14 have been charged with sexually assaulting an 8-year old girl, police in Phoenix, Arizona, said Wednesday.
I don’t understand why a 9-year-old boy even understands how to (or why you would) commit sexual assault. For GOODNESS’ SAKE, WHY is a 9-year-old so sexualized? How have we let this happen? Can’t kids be kids?
I almost wish I needed to buy a new car
I would totally be getting a Ford. I don’t care what model, but it would very likely be a Ford. I LOVE my car (a Nissan, I’m such a traitor), but I bought it before Car Wars began. I have to give Ford props, though, for standing up, getting rid of debt and working hard to build quality vehicles. And since they’re American and America needs me right now, I would buy a Ford. They haven’t taken (much) government money. The government isn’t a major shareholder in Ford. And they just seem to be doing the right thing by the American people and the American consumer. Go Ford! Kudos to you.
